Strategic Plan

Statement of Faith

We believe in and unqualifiedly affirm:

1. The inspiration of the Bible, equally in all parts and without error in its origin (II Timothy 3:16);

2. The one God, the eternally existent Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who created man by a direct, immediate act (I John 5:4-6; Genesis: 2:7);

3. The incarnation, virgin birth, sinless life, miracle, substitutionary and atoning death through the shed blood, bodily resurrection, ascension to heaven, and the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ (I Corinthians 15:3; I Peter 2:21-30; John 3:16);

4. The fall of man; the need of regeneration by the operation of the Holy Spirit on the basis of grace through faith; and the resurrection of all; to life or damnation (Romans 3:21-30; Philippians 2:8; John 5:28-29);

5. The redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross, which provides healing for spirit, soul, and body through believing prayer (Isaiah 53:5; I Peter 2:24; James 5:14-16);

6. The present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling enables the Christian to live a godly, overcoming life and whose infilling empowers the Christian with the gifts of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22; Acts 1:5, 8; I Corinthians 12-14);

7. The spiritual relationship of all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, living a life of righteous works, separated from the world, witnessing of His saving grace through the ministry of the Holy Spirit (Colossians 1:10-13; Ephesians 4:10).

Educational Philosophy

WOOCA bases its understanding and focus of education on the Word of God. As a part of this focus, we utilize the Noah Webster’s 1828 dictionary definition of education: “EDUCA'TION, n. [L. educatio.] The bringing up, as of a child, instruction; formation of manners. Education comprehends all that series of instruction and discipline which is intended to enlighten the understanding, correct the temper, and form the manners and habits of youth, and fit them for usefulness in their future stations. To give children a good education in manners, arts and science, is important; to give them a religious education is indispensable; and an immense responsibility rests on parents and guardians who neglect these duties.” The guiding concept for training and educating at WOOCA is the ‘three-legged stool’ concept, which consists of the home, the local church, and the school. As the training of a child begins at home, the parents and guardians are under divine mandate to ensure that the child is appropriately and fully trained. The home, the local church and the school facilitate the child’s education as part of the training the child receives at home. If any part of this educational ‘stool’ is missing or lacking, the child will not be fully or successfully trained. In short, if the responsible parents and guardians do not select a Christ-centered environment to facilitate their child’s training, the parents and guardians cannot and should not expect that their child will be fully trained and made ready for the world with which he/she will be faced. Regrettably, the child will then lack the ability to comprehensively think, discern, reason, and also resolve. Knowing this, WOOCA endeavors to impact the lives of its children and their families through a comprehensive fundamental education predicated on the precepts of God; the partnership of the parents and guardians with the school; the reliance of the leadership and staff on daily prayer with faith; and the strict adherence to a disciplined and structured environment.

Vision

REACHING NATIONS THROUGH EDUCATION
(Matthew 28:18-20)

The vision of WOOCA is to train and release educated children whose lives express the highest order of moral excellence, superior academic preparation, and optimal physical health. As well-trained and articulate Warriors for Christ, these fully educated children emerge from WOOCA with the ability to effectively communicate their faith and message of the way, truth, and life to the nations. WOOCA aims to assist the parents and guardians in training the children spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, and physically. This training is for the glory and honor of the Lord Jesus Christ. Hence, the vision is a generation of sons and daughters taught of the Lord, thereby bringing peace and godly character back to the American homes. Therefore, children are shaped in the following areas:

Goals

THE MAP!
Moral Excellence (Spirit)
Academic Enrichment (Soul)
Physical Fitness (Body)
And to PRAISE THE LORD!

Moral Excellence (Spirit):
We believe that spiritual development is the primary goal of education for all children from infancy to young adulthood; it is foundational for all educational pursuits. Christian virtues taught from the Word of God produce children full of wisdom and able to successfully face life’s challenges (moral excellence produces character qualities such as obedience toward God-given authority, truthfulness of communications, forgiveness of offenders, and love for all). We believe that the problems of our society today can only be overcome by the power of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, the gospel is ministered to all children and an invitation is given to receive Jesus Christ as the Savior. Also, the laying on of hands and praying for healing are part of what the ministers of WOOCA believe and practice.

Academic Enrichment (Soul):
We believe that God is the source of all truth (John 14:6) and that training and education must have the Lord Jesus Christ as its foundation.

     The Home: We believe that the home is the primary institution ordained by God to train and to educate children. They benefit most when the parents and guardians are actively involved with the overall training and education in the school. The home must support school instruction by providing needed resource for home learning and assure that homework and study also take place every day at home.

     The Teacher: We believe that teaching is a God-given gift and calling (Romans 12:6-7). The teacher must have knowledge and experience in his/her area of instruction. The teacher must also guide children in the learning process, utilizing teaching methods compatible with biblical truths concerning child development (grammar stage (up to 5th grade): when the children learn the basics; dialectic stage (from 6th to 8th grade): when the children continue to learn but now challenge some of what they learn; rhetoric stage (from 9th to 12th grade): when the children continue to learn but now learn how to present their knowledge).

     The Curriculum: We believe that all subjects are best taught from a perspective that is consistent with the biblical truth; therefore, all subjects are taught and learned under the Lordship of Jesus Christ, and also include biblical integration.

     The Classroom: We believe that the acquisition of teaching is done in an enriched environment that enables children to reach their full intellectual potential. The enriched environment is a disciplined and structured classroom filled with choices, challenges, creativity, and surprise.

Physical Fitness (Body):
We believe that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit of God and must be trained and nourished for proper function and physical development (physical activity is for the purpose of exercising the God-given physical gift to the glory of God).

and to PRAISE THE LORD:
As some take Lunch Breaks, Rest Breaks, Washroom Breaks, We Take "PRAISE BREAKS!" Everyday we are in session, we make sure the children and staff have an opportunity to offer thanksgiving and praise unto the Lord, giving Him the glory for all the successes and rescues from all failures! We also have Chapel Service every Wednesday, where the Children express their anointing, gifts and talents through praise and worship, vocal and instrumental music, testimonies, words of encouragement, and even the preaching and teaching of the gospel.
